MOSCOW, Apr 26 (PRIME) -- The share of e-commerce in Russia’s total volume of retail trade exceeded the January–June 2020 historic high of 10.2% and reached 11.2% in January–March as the people spent 1.25 trillion rubles in online stores, up 59% on the year, the Russian Online Retail Association (AKIT) said on Tuesday in a statement.
Of the total volume of sales, 93% were presented by the internal market and 7% by cross-border trade.
The redistribution of market was hugely influenced by the change of the external political situation – the imposition of the sanctions and difficulties with cargo carriage, among others.
The cross-border trade was rising at the beginning of 2022, decreased in February and shrank in March. On the local market, there was a rise by 50% in January, 64% in February, and 77% in March.
